learning curve | playing with focus

I really want to buy a new camera.

My current camera is just about one of THE cheapest SLR cameras on the market, so I feel the need to upgrade! They always say that owning an expensive camera doesn’t make you a photographer…and that even the most amazing photographer should be able to take an amazing photograph using less than amazing equipment. And yes, I’ve learned how to make the best with what I’ve got, but when you’re taking photographs for everyday people with better camera’s, you know it’s time to upgrade…

So I’m currently saving to buy myself an awesome new camera to make me happy and to make my clients even happier. In the lead up to that new camera, I have been experimenting with my current one – and the last few days I’ve been experimenting with focus!

I definitely love playing with focus and it was one of the main reasons I upgraded to a DSLR all those years ago but for some reason, I never really say down and learned how to make it work in my images. I’m so glad that I’ve had a fiddle and an experiment and can’t wait to use it creatively in upcoming sessions!

How do you use focus creatively in your photographs?
